Come out for an evening of exploring design techniques in clay. You can expect instruction and practice in the following areas: basic carving techniques, water etching, wax resist and basic sgraffito. Work tiles will be provided in various levels of dryness (and some bisque-fired pieces for the illustrative wax demo). If you are a current student or have pottery experience, please feel free to bring your own clay pieces if desired. For reference, we will be working in leather-hard (carving/sgraffito), bone dry (water etching), and bisque-fired (wax resist).
