Whether you're looking to try something completely new or return to a creative practice you love, this immersive program offers the perfect balance of structure, exploration, and fun.

Description:
This unique summer camp is designed specifically for adults who want to step away from their daily routines and dive into the world of ceramics and metalsmithing. Over the course of five mornings, participants will split their time between the pottery studio and the metals bench, gaining foundational skills in both disciplines while developing their own creative voice.

In the ceramics portion, students will explore both handbuilding and wheel throwing techniques. You’ll learn slab construction methods as well as get hands-on experience at the pottery wheel—centering clay, pulling walls, and forming simple vessels like bowls and cups. Surface design and glazing techniques will also be introduced, allowing you to personalize and finish your work.

In metalsmithing, participants will be guided through essential techniques used in jewelry and small metal object design. Skills will include sawing, filing, sanding, texturing, forming, and basic cold connections. Students will have the opportunity to create simple wearable pieces such as pendants, earrings, or small sculptural objects while learning to safely and confidently use studio tools.

Throughout the week, demonstrations, guided exercises, and open work time will allow you to build confidence while also encouraging personal exploration. This is a supportive, low-pressure environment where experimentation is welcomed and creativity is celebrated.
