Cut Your Own Gemstone: Beginner Cabochon Workshop

Discover the art of lapidary as you transform rough stone into a smooth, polished cabochon. In this beginner workshop, students will learn how to cut, shape, sand, and polish their own gemstone using trim saws and professional cabbing machines. Participants will work in pairs—perfect for friends or couples—sharing a cabbing machine and trim saw while rotating through each stage of the process including trimming rough stone, shaping the dome, sanding through progressively finer grits, and polishing to a finished shine. All stones are provided by the studio, and each student will leave with a finished cabochon ready for jewelry or display. No experience necessary.
