In this 5-week class, students will learn how to wrap, solder and set cabochons. They will also learn basic tube settings using small faceted round stones. By the end of the class, students can expect to complete one finished piece of jewelry: pendant or ring. Details will be discussed during class.
The first two classes will be dedicated to learning and practice through repetition exercises using copper metal for cost effectivenessd. The remaining weeks will be for student project work. However, students must provide their own cabochon stones for their desired project.
Instructor: Hattie Weselyk
Materials fee includes sterling silver sheet, bezel and wire.
Prerequisite: Students must have completed Adult Metal Jewelry Level I at the studio. It is important to note that students must have completed a class with Hattie before and should have experience in soldering and be familiar with the studio space. The class will be faster paced and focused solely on settings and not on how to solder but rather instruction on varying soldering techniques accordingly.
